Learn more about Settings in the GoodMaps app.

In Settings, you can customize your preferences. For instance, you can opt to view step-by-step directions in feet or meters and switch between light and dark mode. Additional options, such as adjusting vibrations, sounds, and notifications, will soon be available. Users with visual impairments will also gain access to a variety of third-party visual assistance apps for navigation. In future updates, routing instructions will be available in languages other than English.

Highlights & Specifications

  • You can choose between dark mode and light mode to suit your preferences and lighting conditions.
  • If you're in a country using the metric system, you can receive routing instructions in meters instead of feet.

GoodMaps 2.0 vs 1.0

  • Currently, 2.0 users can only choose between light and dark modes, as well as feet or meters in your in-app Settings.
  • For 1.0 users, you can adjust home screen options, location information options, audio and voice settings, routing preferences, and units of measurement in Settings. You can also choose to hear routing instructions in English, Canadian French, or Spanish.

What's the difference between light and dark mode?

Light mode displays app screens with a white background, while dark mode features screens with a dark grey background. Dark mode is beneficial for reducing eye strain in low-light environments and preserving battery life.

Where can I find Settings?
