Feature Description

Users can access the All GoodMaps Building Directory when they launch the GoodMaps app. As soon as the app opens, users are given the option to either confirm that they are in or near a GoodMaps building or explore all buildings. When they select “explore all buildings” from the launch screen, users are presented with a complete list of all GoodMaps-enabled buildings. Buildings are displayed based on their proximity to the user’s current position, with closer buildings at the top of the list.

Highlights & Specifications

  • From the Explore All Buildings screen, users can choose to explore a building remotely.
  • While exploring remotely, users can view the Building Map, the Building Information Card, and the building Directory.
  • If a user selects a destination or point of interest from the directory or map, they can also view the Destination Information Card.
  • Routing is currently unavailable when exploring remotely. In the future, users will be able to remotely preview routes from one location to another.

GoodMaps 2.0 vs 1.0 

  • GoodMaps 1.0 includes a Virtual Mode. To access it, users must tap the app Menu and select the Location Directory. From there, they can tap any GoodMaps-enabled building and practice virtual routes from one location to a chosen destination.
  • Because GoodMaps 1.0 does not have a visual map, users cannot explore actual destination information or building maps from Virtual Mode.

How many buildings can I explore in the GoodMaps app?

GoodMaps is accessible in more than 198 buildings across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Continental Europe, Central and South America, Australia, and Asia, with new buildings added every month. Current users can access retail spaces, transit hubs, and corporate buildings using the GoodMaps app.

Can I preview routes when I am exploring a building virtually?

At present, routing is unavailable when exploring remotely. In the future, users will be able to remotely preview routes from one location to another.

How do I exit a building I am virtually exploring?

To exit a building, tap the app Menu in the bottom right corner of the screen and select Exit Building.
